This morning I went to an interesting mass at the San Lorenzo church in Florence, in Italian it would be "Messa Solenne dell'Epifania. Liturgia Musicale Fiorentina del XIV Secolo". On the initiative of the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies (Villa i Tatti), they had dig out lyrics and music for a choir and orchestra to a church mass during the 14th century. The musicians and singers were from the very merited Micrologus ensemble, and the best of everything was that they had brougth beautifulle copies of the old instruments from the very same 14 century, giving a suggestive sound. Okej, another day of sun-shine in Florence, so another 60-k-ride down to Greve in Chianti, seems to one of my favourite-places actually. Heavy wind today, but with blue sky, sun in your eyes and 12 Celsius degrees, what can you do?
